Dear friends,

It's already January 28, 2024, and in less than

in less than 15 days, we'll plunge into the Chinese New Year, scheduled for February 10, 2024! For a change of pace, but still in keeping with our shared quest for self-knowledge, guess which animal the Chinese will be celebrating this year? Tick tock, the Dragon! I'm delighted to take you with me into the mysterious realm of Chinese New Year 2024, a celebration promising a wealth of traditions and festivities.

Before we immerse ourselves in the festivities ahead, here are a few things I've unearthed to enrich our discussion.

Their zodiac differs from ours, consisting of twelve animal signs, each associated with a specific year in a twelve-year cycle. These signs include the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Note that each year is also linked to one of the five basic elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.

So, in 2024, it's the year of the Dragon with the Wood element. A powerful and creative combination. The Dragon reminds me of Bruce Lee, my childhood idol.

His dazzling power, passion and charisma are all characteristics associated with this fantastic creature.

Imagine the fusion of the Dragon's energy with Bruce Lee's inner strength! Let's bring out the Dragon's energy in ourselves!

I couldn't fail to mention the cult series starring the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke, the actress who plays Daenerys Targaryen, in Game of Thrones.

Her character perfectly symbolizes the majesty and power associated with these fantastic creatures.

Another inspiration to approach this Year of the Dragon with all the grandeur it deserves.

But let's return to the Wood element in Chinese tradition. It represents growth, flexibility and vitality. In the context of the Wooden Dragon, this adds a dimension of personal growth and creativity to the already powerful energy of the Dragon. It's as if this year is an invitation to nurture our aspirations, develop our talents and explore new horizons! Sounds great! I'd love to!

And so, as we plunge into Chinese New Year 2024, we honor an age-old tradition that bears witness to the ancient wisdom that fascinates me, and to the profound connection between time, nature and culture. May this brief incursion into the history of the Chinese calendar illuminate our forthcoming festivities and enrich our understanding of this celebration steeped in symbolism.

Fraternally,

Moon, 🌙
